Hello there, I have a TP-Link WR740N V1.1 with DD-WRT version DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/18/12) std revision 18767.
I have to mention that I dont have phisical access to the AP router and i got the "password" using Wifiway 2.0.
So there's my problem, I'm trying to connect using the WEP security option and writing the password that I got in the first key spot(I tried to use the passphrase with the generate button but doesn't work either).
It tries to connect (or that's what I believe) but it never gives me any ip, I tried connecting to two more networks with WPA and WPA2 password and they both give me ip, so I dont understand whats the problem with the one with WEP password.
I can connect to it directly with my client and works perfectly so the password works. I've be looking for problems closes to mine but havent found anything.
I hope you can help me to solve this.
PD: I'm sorry if I made any mistake in the text, I don't speak english natively.

If the admin of the WEP configured router wants to give you access to his signal then he will give you the right password and configure his router so you can connect to it.
But I have the right password because I can join without any problem with my usb client, the problem is when I try to connect with my router.
This may be related to the fact that the router doesnt show any name when connected to the router?
I saw it when I loged to a router equal to the WEP one (I guess is the same because of the name shown in the login prompt) and in the DHCP client it doesn't show my router's name.

did you use the generated password or did you use the hex keys? hex keys is more safe. the key generation by password algorithms are different for every vendor _________________ one cigarette costs 2 minutes of your life.

by the way. WEP is forbidden by 802.11n. so your client might ignore it in 802.11n operation mode. dd-wrt does allow it anyway. but a wifi certified device should prevent the use of wep with 802.11n _________________ one cigarette costs 2 minutes of your life.
