I was just digging through my router..looking at new features that are on it since i upgraded. And I found the xbox kaid. I was reading that it has something to do with gaming (which the name also makes apparent)

it's an alternate online server (like xbox live) but it's owned by someone else than M$.

nice, so it's like the old xbconnect and similar software, but it's crossplatform? Could i play against someone on ps3 if I have a 360? I probably won't use it, but it is neat. I would have liked it 10 years ago when i used to play online all the time with my friends over xbconnect before the xbox live days.

I've read into this and you can not play someone on a different platform. For example you have CoD4 on Xbox and I have CoD4 on PS3 we can not play together. Still waiting for this to happen.
