My RT-N66U came with firmware version 3.0.0.4.270 which was already 64k NVRAM....the latest firmware from ASUS auto updates the CFE as part of the firmware upgrade and has done so for some time...also ...

since the router is rebooting every 15 seconds you have to do it using the WPS button/reset button combination otherwise you will never successfully upload a firmware in 15 seconds...and timing is eve ...

If the recovery mode doesnt work from holding reset button then power on, try this (I had similar problem as yours and recovered it this way):

Hold down WPS button and power on, then release WPS ...

My mistake... its so hard to keep up with what keeps breaking in DDWRT Shocked I was thinking build 21061 and it was late when I posted oopssss...as for VPN I gave up with DDWRT for that as it keeps ...

My favourite build for E3000 is kong 21661 its solid but no SSH and OpenVPN is broken but u can find it here usb-ftp-samba3-vpn-nv60k-broadcom.bin

Using Iphone 4S on E3000 I get 65/65 all the time...try using N/G mixed mode...are you using 20 or 40MHz channel on 2.4GHz? What is your TX Power set at?

The latest available for my WRT54G v2 is 14896 (8/09/2010).

According to what source? 13064 was one of the worst if not the worst build and 21061 is here for your WRT54G:
