The most common reasons for rebooting are heat, nvram/memory problems or failing to do a proper hard reset. See also the peacock announcement, note 3.

..but didn't read everything, simply upgraded with wrt54g2v11-firmware.bin

Wrong move. Now you'll have to read much more. That was the wrong firmware.

Looks like either a signal error, or a failure to use the right type of encryption.

But i want to make it permanent, so if users were to hard-reset the unit the config wouldn't be changed, but it would default to my config.

Is it possible to do that, pls?

Perhaps you don't have your computer set to automatically connect to the wireless interface? Are you saying that you lose LAN connection when you set the virtual ssid up?? Are you sure you are using ...

Any ideas, what could be wrong?
