N doesn't really halp with no. of users etc, it gives you higher throughput wirelessly. Unless you're planning to exchange a lot of files wirelessly b/w different users, N or G wound't really matter.

As I said, doing it all in the router would be much better, I just don't know if DD-WRT supports data limit/user.

The special version of DD-WRT (costs around 20 Euros or so) lets you assign speed limits to user's by IP or MAC, not very sure if it actually lets you put a data limit as well.
