Nope, the bootloader is never included in the firmware, except very rare cases.
Find the u-boot and flash to the eeprom, start at sector 0.
The u-boot is mtd0 in openwrt.

If not so, maybe the high voltage passed through and applied to all the circuit, then say bye-bye to the router!

I dont think even a powerful router can transcode video in real time... anyway you can look at openwrt, maybe it has what you are searching.
