Any ideas on how to use that JTAG port? I have a 100% bricked WNDR4500v1 in front of me. When given power, all the LAN lights are dim. No flashing, ping, or activity of any kind, not even through UART ...

there is no rom folder, and a ls of the root shows all main folders, etc /bin, /etc, /dev, /lib and such

How is the range compared to the N16?

MUCH better then my RT-N16! but I had a first generation RT-N16

I never thought about that Zoomlink. Good point on the wear and tear it would take using a USB Flash Drive. And yeah check out this Western Digital Drive:
