Don't 30-30-30 your Asus routers, just select reset to default setting when upgrade your new firmware.

It's almost impossible to brick a Asus routers, unless you mess around with it too much.

I think it have to do with the ASP codes the DD-WRT was written in. For some reason the Opera web browser can handle those codes with ease. The DD-WRT micro version don't have this problem.

Opera browser is very fast in loading a web page, you will see a improvement in dd-wrt GUI page access speed. I have tested dd-wrt with IE and firefox and both load dd-wrt GUI very slow but not Opera ...

Try use Opera web browser to access the DD-WRT GUI.
