That's great, thanks. Seeing from that patch, the bug fix only included putting a || instead of && Smile.

So now we're just waiting for the developers to sanction a newer build as `recommended ...

Are you sure those were magic packets? Your NIC can be set such that it wakes up by any traffic, maybe that's what's going on and a device sends traffic every 10 minutes...

Indeed, the heavy traffic from P2P is usually the factor here. DD-WRT's implementation of QoS is also in need of some refinement as it is not very effective, unless you set very conservative bandwidth ...

Thanks for putting me in the right direction. I know too little about firewalls and IPtables and stuff. I'll read it through and update here if necessary.

Sure, but Asterisk is so flexible, there's no standard test or something. And understand there are different configurations for different purposes, which are all correct.

Still, getting an audio re ...

If that's the only thing you want to know, well, yes - your SPA does communicate Asterisk, otherwise it wouldn't recognise it at the 192.168.8.110 address. Very Happy

So the next step is configuring Asteri ...

I may be wrong, but you may not understand the correct idea behind such a setup. The way to set up Asterisk for regular PBX use is usually:

IP-phones ==> Asterisk on router ==> Internet

I think you're missing a lot of information. What you are doing with VoIP? Are you directly calling someone or through a SIP proxy? Is the SPA registered or not while calling? What internet connection ...

I was wondering the same, so I did a quick test using cat /proc/net/ip_conntrack | grep "mark=40" and such.

It appears that only the source (outgoing) port is used (marked) by the QoS imp ...

You are going to see lower speeds because QoS is allowing bandwidth for those specified services. In your case, RTP and SIP.
I thought that you get a lower speed because of the router requiring some ...

These things are almost always NAT related. As far as I know, DD-WRT doesn't block anything you don't want with its firewall, so the problem still has to be at either the Asterisk system or the phone. ...
