I could "get" the higher speed connections technically, but the actual throughput was worse than my WRT54GL. I only care about real throughput. Iperf is a great tool for monitoring that.

I was already using one 310N in my setup and it didn't work well. I tried the 310N as an AP with a WGA600N wireless bridge and the performance wasn't any better than my WRT54GL to the WGA600N.

Good suggestion but I already tried it. I tried 20, 35, 40, 45, 60, and 80. Some were better than others, but none of the settings were faster than my WRT54GL.

Well, after digging around quite a bit I figured out the problem. Apparently DD-WRT v24 only takes trx formatted firmwares now (at least on the 310n), and the Linksys firmware was a bin formatted one. ...

I haven't tried this myself, but there are specific instructions in the wiki on how to do it.

I have a WRT310N that I use as an access point only. I want to flash it back to the stock Linksys firmware until DD-WRT supports 40Mhz channels. Unfortunately uploading via tftp, Linksys' tftp utility ...

I can set it to 40mbps, but the performance isn't good. I get maybe 10% higher speeds than I used to get between the WRT54Gs I used before these units. Disappointing to say the least. What hardware do ...

Click Save
Then set Channel Width to "40 Mhz"

Yes you need to select 40Mhz if you want 300Mbps speed. Obviously if you do you are using 40Mhz channels you don't even get the 3 non overlapping channels that 20Mhz provides, so if there are other ne ...

So are you saying that even if it shows 270mbps on the wireless status page that it won't go to 270mbps? I have a WRT310N and a WRT160N that I'm trying to bridge wirelessly where both show >130mbps ...

I recently bought a WRT310N and WRT160N to setup as a high-speed (>54g) wireless bridge for my Xbox 360 (for HD streaming). I can't get a speed higher than about 15Mbit/sec (which won't do MPEG-2 H ...

It looks like the 300N v1.1 and the 350N v2 or v2.1 use the same chips. Does this mean that the 350N v2 or v2.1 is now supported? I'm looking at buying one online so I won't know if it is a v1/v2/v2.1 ...
