You need to set the tmup as a client to connect to the router (AP - I presume) in the house.
The laptop connects to the tm by cable, the tm acts as a client to the house router.

should toggle the pins every second, change the gpio number for a different gpio.

Hi, sorry if I didnt explain it properly, but its as I wrote it.

at the command prompt, use, for example to enable gpio 3

gpio enable 3

and to disable -

gpio disable 3

double check that each ...

Have you tested the individual gpio points ?

On my wrt54G, for example, there are 2 gpio's that are shown in the wiki that are reversed.

Is your board the one with the ADMtek IC with a resistor bloc ...

Would not netstumber do all you need ? cant see why you would need the features of backtrack ?
the long term graphing in NS would sort your issue, just use it from 3 positions and set to record.

You have built it incorrectly or set it up incorrectly. what are your settings for handshaking, they should be NONE.

How many data lines are on the 4712 ? 16, or 32 ?
My board (a v2) has 2 ram chips. the address lines are coupled, the data lines appear not to be.
