The E2000 doesn't do 2.4ghz and 5ghz at the same time, the other two models you mention do. Given the scenario, I think you'll want that ability to squeeze as much as you can out of your wireless link ...

I think DD-WRT would do the rest, although some of them are over my head, so I've not tried. Look around in the Wiki for your needs, everything is very well documented.
