ok, one more:

Tried to search and this may be obvious. If flash memory is 4mb (like for wl500g) I can then use the
dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin which is 3.6mb but not the mega which is 7.1mb?

Thanks for the suggestion .. Will keep it in my cheat sheets for reference. I am not in favor of hardcoding mac addresses, for equipment that I swap out on a routine basis... Unless I really need to.
