So I'm a little confused. What rules would you use? I don't have a firm grasp on iptables, that's why I got them from the Internet.

You said add -I and drop -A? So,

I wouldn't touch Google with a ten foot poll. better to create an account with OpenDNS and use them as primary. the security options are well worth it. Why allow Google to know every site you visit?

I found out what the problem was. My ISP Comcast blocks inbound/outbound port 25. DD-WRT needs to add a function to allow you to change the port.

I have found that if you go into access restrictions and block DNS that it won't allow anyone to use DNS on the computer except for what the router provides. Be sure to use DNSMasq for DNS under setup ...
