Hi,
I have bought a new D-link DIR-842 router and I would like to install DD-WRT on it. However it isn't in the list with supported devices.
I have tried to open the router but I did't succeed (it has no removable rubber feet to hide additional screws, only two screws underneath the label. The back didn't come of though). However I managed to get some info on the hardware by looking through the ventilation holes with a torchlight:
I think you can pry the top off of the unit. Mine was improperly placed when i got it out of the box and i snapped it back in place. Screws might hold the hardware to the lower plastic part. I did not try to open it so as not to lose warranty.
I would like as well to know if it will be supported in the future. It has far too little options and settings.
No it will not be supported.
It is based on a Realtek chipset and ddwrt developers do not build for that platform. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
