Hello,

It doesn't seem to exist as of now and I was wondering if anyone could make a webrevert/ddwrt to stock for the Archer C8v1.

Thanks!

This webrevert would be great. I need some features from ddwrt to test out but have been reading about not so good speeds on LAN and WIFI so don´t want to be stuck in ddwrt.

I have only found this info about TPLINK
http://www.friedzombie.com/tplink-stripped-firmware/

And Guru LOM was the one doing the Atheros version on TPLINK probably he could give us some insight.

Is there a way to tell on which stock firmwares those images were built? comparing the stripped images to the original images could help give some insights.

Because each router is a different world. C7 is Atheros chipset. C9 is Broadcom chip as C8, but it has a tricky way to go back to stock. On C8, you can't. As you see, every router is a different world.

A webrevert file for the C8 would be great. I'm a big DD-WRT fan and usually happy to be at the cutting edge (have been with previous routers) but the lack of a way to get back to stock is putting me off upgrading my C8 from TP-Link's limited stock firmware.

I had a quick google for info on how to create the webrevert files but didn't find anything. Presumably it's more complex than stripping out the bootloader part of the firmware else I guess everyone would be able to do it.

In the meantime I'm crossing my fingers and monitoring the fried zombie page and LOM's thread for changes Wink
