Hello,

My dell is compleatly dead now. It is not responding to any ping, tftp doesn't work.
I tried all recovery tips & tricks posted on this forum without any good result.
Finally I found the way how to connect JTAG cable to my router and I did it.
Software can recognise the chip and the flash memory, but the problem is that, there is
no change when I upload cfe.bin file for WRT54G (found only this one)

Is that mean that I need to upload cfe.bin file designed for dell only??
Any idea??

Thanks Tomasz

Yes, you will need cfe specifically for the Dell..you should have just cleared the nvram first then tried to reload.

If no one has one...you may be out of luck...it might be time to buy a new one.

Eko - you are my hero, it worked without any question. As a payback I will post some pictures how to connect jtag to this machine. (Where should I put these pictures - sorry I'm new on this forum)

Also - I have noticed that the latest beta version of dd-wrt does not work on my dell
I mean - it is booting and everything looks great, but the network is invisible on WAN.
I'm receiving WAN ip address through DHCP, but no connection to the internet Sad

Anyway the router is working fine with dell's firmware, so I presume this is something wrong with dd-wrt.

Thanks again to all involved in my success!!

I know this is a really old thread, but hopefully someone still has notifications on.

thomas_pys,

How did you go about connecting your jtag to the Truemobile. I opened mine up and those are really small points to be soldering. Did you solder? Attach them some other way? Any tips for making a good connection?

Thanks.

I was able to get ping replys but I wasnt able to get tftp to work. Now I cant get ping replys at all from it. So JTAG is my option as well. My internals look different than yours so Im guesing mine is a v2?
