Hi all,
I am running "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/17/14) mega" on a Netgear WNDR3400v2.
I have multiple virtual machines on my host that are running DHCP.
Everything works fine when it is connected to the internet via the WAN port.
The problem is that I often need to get this system to work with no internet connection. When the router is not connected to the internet, it does not seem to serve up IP addresses (or maybe the clients see it is not connected and don't bother asking for them?)
main setup page try:
gateway - same as router local IP
set 'Local DNS' same as router local IP
DHCP server is Enabled ... yes????
set static DNS 1 same as local DNS/router IP (shouldn't have to do this but try if else fails)
check 'Use DNSMasq for DHCP'
check 'Use DNSMasq for DNS'
check 'DHCP-Authoritative'
shouldn't have to do other but ---¬
Services page/Services
Used Domain set 'LAN & WLAN'
LAN Domain -- name whatever you want like 'foolan'
you can then access router by http://routername.foolan
you should set your devices to get static leases
mac addy - hostname - IP - lease time
DNSMasq - Enable
Local DNS - Enable
No DNS Rebind - Enable
Query DNS in Strict Order - Enable
reboot router, reboot other devices
if that don't work post in broadcom forum and you
might want to look at anothet dd-wrt build
