I am trying to print using USB with my EA8500 running DD-WRT. This works as expected with my other wireless routers.
Using the latest build "DD-WRT v3.0 - 2016/07/20 - r30260" and trying several other builds from this year, usblp is missing in '/lib/modules/*/'
But the other USB related drivers (usb-common / usbcore) do exist and are loaded. Also I see output when I plug my USB printer in.

Is there a reason usblp is not being built for this router?
Thanks
It does not look like there has been any activity on that bug report. I just tested the latest build (2016-09-29) and the usblp module is still missing.
Is there anything else I could do to get this fixed? Is there somewhere in the source where the modules built for different models are defined; maybe I can start looking there.
Thanks

Did you ever find any solutions for usb printing on the EA8500? I have a multi-function EPSON I'd like to setup.
I also haven't had any luck with setting up a NAS ith DD-WRT
It will be nice to have universal router for everything but i guess we have priority list including new kernel 4.14 integration, latency, CPU load, QOS, SFE and so on router related. All other functions are not important or very low priority _________________ Netgear R7800

Agree, but issue was not resolved since 2016 and even on a 3.x kernel. It shouldn't be much work for those who have all toolchain and compilers ready. Just bring in usblp modules and let us (me) check. Unless usblp was purposely removed or blacklisted
Could you load that from the CLI and test to see if that fixes the problem? Might make it easier for the fix to be incorporated.
I believe it should be compiled specifically to the kernel version during the firmware release. I couldn't even found the kmod-usb-printer package anywhere on the Entware to sideload. Can someone try?
