I hope this will be useful.

I updated 10pcs of 941n v5.2 routers in a small hotel with this firmware and made same SSID network with roaming. And after a week everything seems to be fine. No freezes no lags, no complains from hotel clients.

and 941n v2.1(RU) = 941n v5.x new
it has the same hardware inside and accepts this firmware.

I ended up moving this router back to factory firmware and was very satisfied with that, because the factory firmware supports the two things I really need out of a router (beyond normal requirements):
-Outgoing VPN support (L2TP or PPTP)
-Creation of a Wireless Distribution System

So... do we have an actual firmware for WR941ND V5.0 or is it still a work in progress? How close is it to being released?

I've just modified the header of the DD-WRT 27506 factory-to-ddwrt build intended for TL-WR841ND v8, so that it will flash on the "new" version of TL-WR941ND v5 (TE7WR941NXV5, CPU Atheros AR9341 @535 MHz) running stock TP-Link firmware.
If the attached build works for you, it can be further updated with any newer-than-27506 webflash build for TL-WR841ND v8.

Disclaimer: I haven't tested the attached build myself, so I'm not responsible in any way if you brick your router.
Please only flash this build if you know how to unbrick it.

Thank you so much KrypteX!

I'm running my TL-WR940N V2 for 4 days and it's working flawless!

How can I connect to router via SSH or Telnet?
I have tried to connect via Putty to 23 and 22 ports, but no luck. Connection was refused.
I did not find the settings in the router provide access for SSH or Telnet.

Dear All,

I have a TL-WR941ND v5.1 – Atheros AR9341 with factory firmware (3.16.9 Build 150311 Rel.62186n). Has anyone such router, who is using DD-WRT firmware on especially this type of router. Which firmware is working stable, and which one can I flash without any problem (from mentioned factory fw)? Please give me a link, from where I can download because I read a lot of topic on this forum many different informations.

Thanks in advance!

Hey mates, just an advice here.

I discovered today that the two updates launched after this one:

Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r30082 std (07/01/16)

Will cause problems on our router (941NDV5). Beware, DO NOT install any updates after the July 1st. My router kept rebooting and I had some trouble with safe mode too, and when it managed to boot, everything was slow as balls.

Managed to revert to July 1st and everything is back to normal.
