Hello,
I am having trouble flashing the DD-WRT firmware on the DIR615 I1.
I downloaded "DIR-615 I1 Firmware - Webflash image for first installation" from the router database
Installed the firmware from the web interface of my modem
after this I can no longer access the web interface and the globe and power symbols are orange and Lan1 flashes green (I do not have it connected to internet, just to my pc)
I am able to recover the modem to the original firmware but I want to use this modem as a repeater (something not included in the stock firmware)
Where am I going wrong? This modem should be supported.
You probably should find two files inside the DIR615i1 download folder. To flash from stock to dd-wrt, you need to first flash the factory-to-ddwrt image which you can find from the DIR615i1 download folder. After that, you then flash the DIR615i1 firmware. You can't directly flash it from stock. It can be used only when your router has already have a dd-wrt firmware in it. Remember, the factory-to-ddwrt image is only need when your router has a stock firmware. In other words, no need to use it if the router already has a dd-wrt firmware.
No Luck, that firmware resulted in the same issue. I:
1. recovered the modem and reinstalled the stock firmware
2. installed it through the modems web interface
3. waited about 10 minutes and tried accessing it from the same IP I used for the stock firmware(No luck)
4. Tried restarting it (No luck)
The modem is not connected to the Internet, just to my PC. I don't know if that is an issue

After upgrading from Stock to DD-WRT, the router is accessable on 192.168.1.1, and it should ask you to create a username and password. It will not be on any other ip address until you change it after changing the password.
D-Link and many other routers on stock firmware default to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.2.1.

DD-WRT is different, that's all.
ahhh now i feel like an idiot, 192.168.1.1 was the correct address but in order to reset my router i needed to set my computer to a static IP which apparently does not work well when setting up DD-WRT, Thank you!
