Hey guys i'm kinda new to DD-WRT and i've been trying for a couple of hours now to set up the Repeater Bridge correctly but it doesn't seem to work how i want it to.

My setup:

Main Router: Speedport W723V Type B
Repeater: D-Link DIR 615 D3
Firmwares:
1st Router: Stock;
DIR-615: DD-WRT v3.0-r30356 std

So my problem is i set everything up correctly and the Repeater Bridge is working ok - HOWEVER as soon as i try to add the Virtual Interface to the Repeater it seems to cancel the connection to my main router and it does not even give out any IP adresses when attempting to connect.

Under Wireless --> Basic Settings

I've entered the correct mode and SSID and on "Wireless Security" i've entered the correct Security Mode as well as everything else.

When i try to add the Virtual Interface now i've chosen a different SSID (of course) and left everything else how it should be according to this guide: https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge

Under Wireless Security i've entered the EXACT same things like above. Yet the Repeater seems to drop the signal and everything stops to work.

As soon as i remove the Virtual Interface the Repeater seems to connect again and everything is alright.

But unfortunately i cannot leave it like that because the devices in the upper floor try to connect to Repeater downstairs which obviously results in bad internet speed. Instead they should ofc connect to the SpeedPort but sometimes they just chose not to. That's why the Repeater needs its own SSID so i can manually chose the connection.

Does anybody have an idea why this happens?

I found my problem to be somehow similar to this thread:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=35554&view=previous&sid=149cc6dbf3e2b6480253fd7f810500da

But their solutions didn't work for me.

Thanks for help guys - sry i'm a big noob with all that stuff.

Thanks Smile

Edit:

Some more information:

Main Router's DHCP range is: 192.168.2.100-192.168.2.199
Repeater Bridge is: 192.168.2.180

DHCP is enabled for the main router, didn't touch the repeater's DHCP settings

Nework Setup in the Repeater:
Local IP adress: obv 192.168.2.180
Subnet mask: default one;
Gateway: 192.168.2.1 (main router),
Local DNS: left empty (don't really need it)

Update:

I followed the guide at https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge

exactly once again, same result.

Devices can't even connect to the Virtual Interface. Seems like it just doesn't hand out IP's whatsoever.

I'm kinda sad - trying for hours to get it to work.

Also tried: http://www.pennock.nl/dd-wrt/Multiple_BSSIDs.html

Earlier today but same result. For some odd reason i sometimes got an IP with this method but still no internet.

Right now i've just done a 30-30-30 and set it up according to the DD-Wrt guide again.

It's not working but i'll leave it like that for now until someone maybe comes up with a possible solution.

@Mods, sry if bumping that early is not wanted Smile
