The best router available for around $200

I ordered a Netgear R6300v2 following coletrain's advice and after doing some research. For $50, should be plenty for my requirements.

Yes. Learn from my newbieness. Lol read that other post for sure. I did feel that 3 pretty good routers for an affordable price spread around the house was better than one awesome one. I was trying to get it out to the yard too. Hope I steered you right!

And enable explicit beam forming. That router is made for it and I found it really helped. The box is unchecked by default.

The R8000 is you already have is perfectly fine...have you tried the stock firmware or one of the older Kong builds?

The newer builds have the reboot problems.

I personally am going back to the stock firmware on my R8000, after encountering numerous problems with DD-WRT. Will still check out the forums for a stable build.
