Hi,
i have tp-link wrt841nd with dd-wrt r30880
Following http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge#Qualcomm_Atheros i have enabled bridge and it works fine.

Now whishing to enable repeater i follow the 2' part of instructions to create the virtual interface for the AP.
All seems OK but as i click 'apply' the router hangs and it became unresponsive wi-fi/lan. Led's seems ok.
Only with an hardware reset i can recover.

Any suggestion?
Thank you!

If you have 2 dd-wrt Atheros or 2 dd-wrt Broadcom routers, use WDS not repeater bridge. WDS is a transparent bridge and is much more stable under Atheros at least, than repeater bridge. https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/WDS_Linked_router_network

The only step that is missing in that page is the enable DHCP on the WDS AP, enable DHCP Forwarder on the WDS Station (ip of WDS AP as DHCP Forwarder).

If you do insist on using repeater bridge. Are the wireless settings exactly the same between the AP and the TP-Link 841 running dd-wrt? Same channel, same channel width, same SSID, same encryption type, same password, etc. Disable the firewall on the repeater bridge as well.

after investigations (with several reset) i found the problem. It besides in the channel width setting. If i use 40MHz in the AP the repeater hangs. If i set to 20Mhz all works fine. AP is a Linksys 160nl with dd-wrt build 14896. May be that it's running a so old build?

You should update to a newer build on the AP.
Just don't go to any build higher than 29968 (make sure the build you use is less than 29968). http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/5412

That definitely sounds like a bug on the AP side then.

Find a build less than 29968, then try that. For that particular router, at this time, that is the last firmware you can use.
