Hi All,

I have a Netgear R6300v1 Router and am running DD-WRT (build 22060). (Static IP 192.168.1.1)

I have an Optus Huawei E5186 wireless modem which connects via 4G to my ISP (Static IP 192.168.1.2)

My question is how do I set this up correctly to connect to my Netgear R6300v1 Router to the WAN of the Huawei Modem.

I manage to get the computers on the LAN to connect to the internet last night by setting the default gateway and DNS settings inside the router to 192.168.1.2 but I have no idea if this is the correct way to implement the connection.

I also connected the LAN port on the modem to one of the LAN ports on the Netgear Router not to the WAN port on the router.

The WAN IP in the router reports 0.0.0.0 but I do have an internet connection and can browser the web on my desktop pc's.

Any help on this would be appreciated.
