Hi,
I am trying to install DD-WRT on my D-link dir-615 H2. I had a minor accident with it... I switched the interface from http to https and immediately firefox refused to let me connect (due to the tls being very old?)
Anyway, I held down the reset button when powering it on, and it reset its address to 192.168.0.1 and showed the following page:

I downloaded the factory-webflash.bin from the database, and uploaded it. It reached 100%. I left the router alone for a few mins, then powered it off and on again, and it doesn't come up on the network (neither with 192.168.0.1 nor 192.168.1.1).
If I perform a 30/30/30 reset (or just hold reset when powering it on for a few secs) it will reappear as 192.168.0.1 and show the above web page again.
I notice in the hardware instruction page it mentions finding a magic hardware code and editing the file. I did not find the suggested code in the file and so made no changes to it. Can this be an issue?
I believe the page that you saw is the emergency recovery, an utility/feature of the DLink bootloader. It enable you to flash back a DLink stock firmware to the router in case it has a corrupted firmware.
What you need to do is go to DLink's web site and download the firmware for your router and flash it back to the router when the page start up again usually when you press and hold the reset button and then apply power to the router.
After the stock firmware is flashed and router is functioning properly, you can try to flash the dd-wrt again in the same way that you did before.
Unfortunately the exact hardware revision is not on their website. I emailled their support about it and received a rather rude reply saying my device isn't supported anymore.
Are any of the other hardware revision firmwares acceptable?
It doesn't matter witch release you take; main thing is that it's for rev. H!
And keep in mind that the IP of the router will change during the upgrade process. So you might have to correct the IP of you pc from 192.168.0.x (DLink) to 192.168.1.x (dd-wrt) with x from 2 to 255. Otherwise you won't get into contact with your router manually.
Good luck
