I just updated my rt-ac88u to the latest build r31221 2017-02-01 but when I sign into my router it shows r30949 12/15/16. I have tried clearing the cache and refreshing but no luck. I am just wondering if any one else has this bug. thanks
I believe to escape 30949 you'll need to go back to OEM firmware first. _________________ Segment 1 XR700 10Gb LAN, 1Gb WAN ISP BS

apparently, I am not alone (http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=307152). There appears to be a bug with the rt-ac88u build that was introduced on 2/1/2017. I am afraid to go back to oem firmware as I do not know if I will be able to flash dd-wrt after due to asus locking down the firmware. I would rather wait for an official fix than reset my router and have to re enter all my settings to install kong. I am sorry if I am rejecting your options but I have faith in brainslayer and believe that he can fix it. with out having to lock down or wipe my router. thanks

If the issue is in the 30949 build, no later fix is going to help you. Try to TFTP the newer build; I'd think that would work, w/o resorting to OEM. Or use the OEM-based Merlin AsusWRT build instead of OEM. Disclaimer: I've not tried it myself, nor do I have an AC88U. _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

the issue is not with the r30949 build. I tried updating the firmware using the asus firmware restoration tool and the router would not boot. I then using the same tool flashed r30949 and my network is back online. I even tried resetting the nvram but no luck. Luckily I kept a backup. The problem is with the current builds of dd-wrt. The builds from last year work but this year don't.
The typical procedure seems to be closing and reopening the ticket, adding your new info (that this build still fails). _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#
