Hi,
after using for a while the DDWRT its amazing ,
but i observe that unfortunately its not a real open source....
the definition of an open source is that programmers from all around that could contribute could do so... meanwhile there are only 2 programmers , Kong & Brainslayer mainly ,
this happens maybe because of the poor(poor to non exist, did you try to read the old developer guidelines ?)
maybe someone intend it to stay like this... and we continue to embrace the DDWRT like it is the "good open source" guy in the hood...
so if this stays like this i think dd-wrt will not be the main player very soon in this wold of alternative open source firmwares.

I am talking about knowledge sharing , and complaints in svn that the project playing one man show . So the project actually is closed gurden which only looks open.
And facts talk by itself , why is there only 2 persons maintain code of this project ? Is this a sign of openness of this project??
My guess is because not too many people like devoting a lot of time to work hard for free for people that then complain about said free product.
I don't have the knowledge or skill to do anything, which I bet is the same for a lot of people here. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
I saw in svn People complaint because they cant contribute, not because they are seek for free meal.
You will be surprised how many people contribute from their own spare time to open sources projects.
in DDWRT its only 2 persons, and i dont think the number is 2 because there are not any more people that are willing to contribute, its because its a closed gurden.

gladly my friend , i just dont see it happen in this project. nor anyone other than Brainslayer & Kong.
Free meals are never free by the way. keep it in mind.
If that's how you feel create another project. No one is stopping you. BS & Kong's firmwares stand on their own merit. They are both knowledgeable and hard-working but they are not gatekeepers.
