I have been using an AT&T mobley router connected to my ASUS RT66 via USB and things have been working pretty well. I can connect to the DDWRT enabled router via wireless and have normal internet access.

I would like to use port 4 of the router to bypass NAT and go straight to the USB modem.

I thought that adding a second wan port using the instructions below would work.

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/VLAN_Bridging_WAN_and_a_LAN_port#Second_WAN_port

I did the following:

Code:

nvram set vlan1ports="1 2 3 8*"
nvram set vlan2ports="0 4 8u"
nvram commit
reboot

This did something to port 4 since it will no longer obtain and IP address. I assumed that it would now passthrough to the USB modem to get its IP but it does not. Maybe usb WAN is not considered the same as a normal WAN?

Do I need to set up IP table rules?
