I have flashed this file into my WRT54G V1.1

VINTAGE : openvpn dd-wrt.v24-13064_VINT_openvpn.bin 2009-11-13 3,48 MB

When I try and set up openvpn, I find that the VPN menu settings in the router are missing many of the settings that openvpn seems to need according to this link:

https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/client-support/dd-wrt-openvpn

Can I even proceed with my router, or do I face a dead end?

first you need to reflash with a more appropriate build. the one you are using is defective and also you should not be using a vint version for that router.

below is the latest for your router but i haven't tried it in this router. you might try it and report your results for additional help if needed.

Yup, mrjcd has used it on old WRT's...http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1080290#1080290

Mine are a few revs older still, since they're at the in-laws.

I apologize for last post as your router may need a vint build and unfortunately they seem to be unavailable at present. I attached a recommended build although not sure it will help.

IMHO, the outlook does not seem very good.
1. You are talking about a 125 MHz CPU that struggles just to run dd-wrt.
2. You can find $5.00 routers that will do 10x more than a WRT54Gv1
