My WRT54GL got its WAN port fried by a lighting in a summer storm. However, LAN ports were OK, and with DD-WRT it's quite easy to convert one of the LAN ports to WAN and, thus, to save your WRT54GL.

Go to SETUP -> VLANs and change the settings as shown below:
