I have a D-Link DIR-868L flashed with dir868b-webflash.bin. I can change my address to 10.1.1.1 or 10.1.1.200. After choosing either , I log to either just fine. Once logged to either I can make changes just as I did when it was 192.168.1.1. The problem is when I try to change the address to 10.1.2.1. Once done, saved and applied I cannot log to that address. I am directly connected to the router as before. I have searched pages on this forum with nothing similar. All I want to do is change the router address to 10.1.2.1. any suggestions?

What netmask do you use?

With 255.255.255.0, 10.1.2.1 is at another sub-net than 10.1.1.0
With 255.255.0.0, 10.1.2.1 is at the same sub-net than 10.1.1.1 and you can access it.

With the first mask, you have to change the ip address at your computer to 10.1.2.5 and you can access 10.1.2.1

If you haven't done it yet, reset the network connection on your PC to refresh its IP address and subnet mask. Happens to me all the time after I change the router to a different subnet like 192.168.11.1/255.255.255.0

I am not sure what you mean "With the first mask, you have to change the ip address at your computer to 10.1.2.5 and you can access 10.1.2.1"
Are you telling me that when I had the router set tho 10.1.2.1, the reason I could not see it was my computer was not at 1-.1.2.x?

So how do I set this router "2" to 10.1.2.1 so I can see it on my network? The end goal is to use this router as a vpn for a device at 10.1.2.29.
I can see it on my current network.
Note: I have a router(1) that is my router that connects to the internet. This router I asked the question about, I want to set at 10.1.2.1 is to be a sub router and VPN.
Did I confuse things?
