Hi all,

I just got an old Asus wl500g premium v2, and I thought I could install dd-wrt, but I can't download any files from the page:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/WL500G_Premium_v2

all the links seem to be dead.

I tried to manually search the ftp, but other/eko directory seem not to have anything related.

I searched for "wl500g premium v2" here, but it gives 45 pages (!) of results, which I don't have time/bravity to read.

Could someone please provide the links for the mega firmware?

Thanks.

Oh, I just found one working link:

Newest build - tested to work:
http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2016/04-11-2016-r29440/broadcom/dd-wrt.v24_mega_generic.bin

anyway, all the other links in the page related to TFTP flashing and other firmwares are not working

Thanks.

I have a router like this with the firmware :

DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) mega

How can i upgrade to this one? can i just use the firmware option from dd-wrt to this release?

I don't have this model, but it seems that TFTP (via the Asus tool or other) is recommeneded; not sure if the GUI update works for it. Another option would be to either wget the firmware or transfer via WinSCP (needs SSH enabled), and then `erase nvram` and flash the firmware to the linux partition (check cat /proc/mtd to verify), then `reboot`.

That seems way more complicated. Im sure someone might know if its okay to update with GUI, i think i've done it one time but i can't remember if it went well...
