Hello folks,

I make a point of testing new builds every so often - my small contribution to the community.

Right now I am still on 30082 since I had issues with stability, especially 5GHz, on newer builds. The longer boot times on newer builds wasn't an issue for me, even though I have the router on an external timer that turns it off at night.

Since I skipped a few newer builds, I would like to ask for advice on a newer build that is stable for this router.

I use mostly basic functions, but I do have jffs enabled and run an ad blocking script.
From what I know, turning radion on/off on a schedule is still not available on this router, but I circumvented that with an external timer.

Thank you for any pointers.

Hello,
I have 2 TP-Link Archer C7 v2 routers.
They are both running 32170 which is stable enough for me.

Any feedback on how this worked out would be appreciated - I've got the same router and currently running 26947M which I'd like to upgrade.

Being a rather unqualified n00b in this field...

It was already answered. Look up on new build threads if not satisfied.

I'm assuming you are referring to ian5142's post there which is the same as in this thread - this would be the only report (that I've found) specifically relating to the router in question. I was hoping to see how things worked out for tux_fan, not questioning ian5142's proficiency - but increasing the number of successful data points would to me validate that the build works for the router.

Apologize if I've stepped out of line, I'm new.

No need to apologize just use the search tab on the forum or google is a bit better sometimes, try this search there are quite a few links on ddwrt forum

But...but...I was specifically asking for how the 32170 build worked on an Archer C7 v2. Appreciate the effort Xeon2k8, but I'm not looking for something generic. Scanning this forum gave me this thread, just looked like the thread to ask. Wink

You are in a 2 years old build. Isn't that a little bit picky for you? It wouldn't make much of a difference upgrading to a build a few months older unless you are looking for a specific fix.

Yeah, feels like taking a -82 Datsun to the BMW dealership asking if they have something similar from the -17 model range. Please don't rub it in, was hoping we didn't have to say it out loud Smile Rolling Eyes

Hence my urge to upgrade to something newer, and in that process why not look at the latest build and check for compatibility/issues with the experts?

I guess I could check previous builds (prior to 32170) - I just thought it would be handy looking at the latest.

DD-WRT v3.0-r31899 std (04/24/17) is stable on my C7 V3. So should be good for you. Before I upgrade any further I will wait for things to settle down since two previous builds were yanked.
