Dlink DWM-222 not working on TP-Link TL-MR3020

Hello
I just bought twelve DWM-222 A1 modems and twelve TL-MR3020 routers and i can't make it work.

The modems should work according to this page and it looks like support was added it was added to the list earlier this year.

I know i have a router with just 4MB of flash but this modem supports both serial and qmi mode and only serial mode will work in a 4MB device.

What should i do?
The firmware i installed is this:
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/06-01-2017-r32170/tplink_tl-mr3020/

Default ID and Modem ID looks ok but

I tried to run
Code:
usb_modeswitch -J -K -v 2001 -p ab00

I got this error message:
Code:
Error: Failed to initialize libusb. LIBUSB_ERROR_OTHER (-99)


I also tried with an old Option Icon 7.2 and got the same message:

usb_modeswitch -J -K -v 05c6 -p 1000
Error: Failed to initialize libusb. LIBUSB_ERROR_OTHER (-99)
