So i just got a Linksys WRT3200ACM and i installed ddwrt. When i change my dhcp settings from "dhcp server" to dhcp forwarder and then type in my ip address and then save, it then refreshes the page with 0.0.0.0 as the ip? any reason why this would be?

What build are you using? I have tried it on mine and the IP stays.

forwarder is still broken on some router models...
unless you don't have multiple DHCP servers on your network, you can use WAP instead https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Access_Point

Try a newer build like http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=304086&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=1503

That build had forwarder issues (GUI only if I remember).

Upgrade to a newer build and it should display correctly in the GUI.
