ok, at first I had 0620 on my Linksys wrt54g v.6 router, then I had updated to 0806 and then to 0815

I had a bit of a stabability problem with 0815 so I tried to downgrade to 0620 since it worked best. I tried twice but they both failed, so I unpluged router and took it to my other room to work on it. I plug it in, now all I get is a blinking power light.I tried everything I could think of the fix it, any ideas?

sounds like you bricked it

lets go through what you did before it started screwing up.

you have a WRT54Gv6 (so 2mb only)
so you did the process to get from the linksys firmware -> linux install enabler firmware -> 06/20 MICRO
(v23 SP?, v24 ?)

then through dd-wrt web gui -> 08/15 MICRO (v23 sp? / v24?)
had stability problems - locking up / network connectivity issues (im guessing)
so you used the dd-wrt web gui -> 06/20 MICRO

it said failed twice
unplugged it and physically moved it to new location
wont boot (blinking green lights)

following questions:

did you reset defaults (admin/defaults) prior to attempting flash up/downgrade?

by hard reset you mean a 30 / 30 / 30 reset - right?

if no to first (1st) question and yes to second (2nd) question
then you probably bricked it
you could try the jumper short (probably wont work)
and probably need to get a jtag cable

best of luck

its all v24

upgraded to 8/15 v24 and usually wireless messed up

Went to downgrade back to 6/20, got the upgade failed page

Took it to another room, and all I got was blinking power light.

I dont think its bricked because I was told if it was bricked all the lights would be solid.

I did not reset to defaults, kinda forgot to, felt stupid afterwards.

Yes, 30/30/30 reset

And lastly, not waisting my time with a jtag

tftp wont work for me, anything I could be doing wrong?

can you ping the router ? .. you can ping it...there's some hope that your router not bricked..

try to ping your router ... open the tftp then try to tftp the firmware again with pinging your router ..

if you had do hard reset for 30 second.. the default ip is 192.168.1.1 .. set your pc with the same subnet (e.g 192.168.1.2) . Open the windows command , in XP --> Start -> Run -> type "cmd" --> type in dos command "ping 192.168.1.1" then hit enter. So what the result ?
the router give reply or not ?

192.168.2.1 is not a default ip ... so you didn't do hard reset Smile...
