the latest version without wlan thoughput
problems is 01-20-2015-r25974
I have tested different versions from the dd-wrt ftp server and found out that since 01-29-2015-r26081 the WLAN doesn´t work correctly
Since this version r26081 and all newer versions are affected from a slow thoughput problem. Downloads are then very slow and the upload direction is never affected from this problem also in newer images as example r29739. Uploads bandwith with Speedtests are works correctly only Download is slow.
Ok the Installation from dd-wrt works when you flash the older original Firmware FW E1700 v1.0.00.081 20131220.bin before and then flash the e1700 to dd-wrt.
I will open an new topic for the thoughput problem

Hello,
have you some experiences wit hrepeater mode on this router? When i enable repeater mode, ethernet LAN ports are inactive and not transmitting any communication. Have you working solution for WLAN repeater mode with secondary WLAN and wirking local hardware ports?
Thanks
This router should be partially supported...
It has some issues with wifi. Everything except AP mode does not work. Ok i managed to get a 1mb connection in bridged mode but it only works like 5% of all time. And it is really slow.
I can confirm that r25974 (2015-01-20) is working without WiFi slow-down. Flashed it yesterday. So far I've not tested the LAN2 output, just using LAN1 for my PC and WiFi for mobile.
Before r25974 I flashed r31277 (2017-02-07). But with that the online speed test only showed 5,3 MBit/s for Download. Upload was okay, 'though.
Then I flashed r25974 as I read somewhere on this board that it was a decent build. Now WiFi Download with this is 23 MBit/s, no slow-down.
But I've a question: In an Amazon-uk customer review for this router I read that someone run it succesful with DD-WRT v3.0-r29519 mega (04/25/16). What is a 'mega' package? Even more setting options? I can't find a mega build for this router.
Sadly there still is an Wifi speed problem with r25974. It occurs if I'm automatically disabling the Wifi over night using the "Radio Time Restrictions" setting in Wireless / Advanced settings.
After the Wifi is up again it only has 3 MBit/s speed and a very long ping time.
After powering off / powering on the router the Wifiy is fast again, no more speed drops then. Until the next morning when it "awakes" from the automatic-off time:(
Does anyone know about this problem and maybe has a solution?

I am trying to install DD-WRT on LinkSys E1700 but getting error that firmware is incorrect. From the Forum noted that the firmware needs to be rolled back to V1.0.00.081. Tried to search on forum and download but not able to find any place where i can download same. Tried Google, got few links but were either not valid or in chinese which also didn't work.
Can anybody please help.
My E1700 is 1.0.03 and is not letting me to downgrade to 01 with FW E1700 v1.0.00.081 20131220.bin. Tried also 30/30/30 but i`m getting on 44% "Incorrect firmware file! Please reboot first and try again!". Aswell with linksys-tftp but no luck. Any suggestion?
Thank you.
[Update 1]
Just found the reason what was wrong with the file: FW_E1700_v1.0.00.081_20131220.bin instead of FW E1700 v1.0.00.081 20131220.bin
Now i have 1.0.00
[Update 2]
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r32170 std (06/01/17)
Been doing some research into this but only realised after ordering the E1700 that the reviews on amazon incorporated reviews for the E1200 & E900 models. It seems the E1700 has some issues!
My plan is to connect the E1700 router to my BT HH5 via LAN to the WAN then configure and use the E1700 as a VPN router. The VPN router will have two/three LAN connections and then one WAP connection. The BT HH5 will still run a couple of wireless connections and two via LAN.
From reading through this thread I'm dubious as to whether the router will be able to perform this duty so I will probably just stick a returns label on it as soon as it arrives and send it back.
The E1200 seems the better way to go, although I imagine it will be v2 that arrives if I order new now.
Does anyone have any other recommendations that would work well with what I'd like it to do?
Wishing now I'd brought my old Linksys WRT54GS with me when I left my old place a few years ago!
Because nobody from the dd-wrt support crew fix problems for older device or have interests to fix problems for older devices!
So i have tried to test something with my old e1700. I have tried to flash openwrt LEDE 17.01-4 the rest is better and also Lanport 2 works with Lede but wlan wasn´t functional. So back to Linksys 1.0.0 via Emergency Update funktion and from linksys 1.0.0 via factory-to-ddwrt.bin flash to DD-WRT v3.0-r35034.
After some test with an e1700 i could temporary solve the thoughput error in dd-wrt with this device. I use the newest version in my case Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r35034 (02/17/1 from the ftp server and set only the default Channel Width from 20 Mhz to WIDE 40 HT after this the thoughput error was gone. I mean in the past i have tried it also but i am not sure.
