Hi,

What version should i use? The dd-wrt.v24_mini_generic.bin or the dd-wrt.v24_mini_wrt54g.bin?

Will Voip or standard not work?

Thanks,

The very first time I load a router with dd-wrt firmware I use a min_generic.bin version.

Do a hard reset, install the mini_generic.bin, do another hard reset...then load whatever version you want.

voip, nokaid, vpn, std, leave the mini...(even load micro if you want very limited features)

Your router has 4M flash and 16M Ram. I personally, like the mini versions. I don't need many of the functions that are in the Std version...mini works well...at least for me.

Thanks,

I need to set it up as a universal repeater. Other than that, i just have 2 pc's and an xbox. Any reason to to use more than mini? (i heard xbox could be tricky and might need something called "xbox kaid").

But i still don't know which version to use if i choose mini. There is the generic and one that seems specialized for wrt54's.

Thanks again,

Ariel

Load up Release Candidate 2 the Standard Generic Version.

http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/release%20candidates/DD-WRT%20v24%20RC2/GENERIC%20BROADCOM%20(Linksys,%20Asus%20etc.)/dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin

I am not a gamer but this version will be what you'll need.

Others on the forum can help you with specific setups for XBox.
