Hello everybody! I just registered in this forum because I need some help. English is not my native language. Sorry for the mistakes that I'll commit...
I have a DIR-859 rev. A3. Long story short, my neighbour keeps attacking me with the "deauthentication packets". The original firmware has a very poor syslog and I can't see what is happening. This bothers me very much.
I installed DD-WRT build 33006 hoping for a solution, but it seems that this problem has no solution. The only thing that I could do is move to the 802.11ac 5gHz.
But, at some point, the CPU load rises to 100% and the router stops working. I read in this forum that the solution for this is to disable the 5Ghz band. This solution works, but it doesn't suit me...
Now I wanna know:
Is this router capable of running DD-WRT firmware?
Because the post is a bit old and I still have the same problem.
Is this a bug?
Because I don't know where and how I should try to communicate with the devs of DD-WRT. I've read that writing here is useless, because they don't read this forum anyway. Besides that, it's syslog is a bit messy. Maybe after a factory reset it will be in order, I don't know...
Should I go back to the original firmware?
I would not like to do this. DD-WRT feels safer to me...

not enough ram to operate 5ghz properly, most with the same 5ghz radio this has have 128mb+ ram, this unit has half that..
put a proper password on with wpa2 aes only is also a solution.. &/or taking access away from the trolling neighbor _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

I don't have SSHd enabled, but I enabled syslog. So I tried to disable DNSMasq and ttraf Daemon (WAN Traffic Counter). Are these needed to work, aren't they?
I'll try to enable 5GHz again and see if it works.
I have enabled 5GHz since the last post and I already had a 100% CPU load peak. I am with the Router tab on Status opened and I didn't see the memory reach 100%. It was about 85% more or less and my syslog is this:

I think that it happened when it shows 21:30 more or less... I notice that I configured the time right, but my syslog shows it wrong...
I didn't get it to work with 5GHz. Now my neighbour is trolling me again and I need 5GHz back. I tried to revert back to stock with this method http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1033483#1033483 without success. Seem to me that it is the only way to have a working wireless again.
Have 5GHz ever worked with this router using DD-WRT? Do you know if I flash an old version of DD-WRT will solve this problem?
No. I think that this is someone trying to login through WAN side. At "Security>Firewall>Impede WAN DOS/Brute force" everything was unchecked and I don't know why. I didn't change that. After I checked all, this stoped.
