Hi guys sorry if this question has been asked before.

I have a Linksys WRTAC3200ACM and just figured out it only supports OpenVPN as a server not as a client.

My main goal is to have the router connect to OpenVPN server in the States to have my Apple TV be in the US so to speak. Since the Apple TV doesn't have an OpenVPN client this would have to be done through the router.

Is there a firmware or something I can install which makes the router an OpenVPN client? Where I can install an .ovpn file and have a toggle to turn it on and off?

Any help is much appreciated

See the Marvell Forum on how to install dd-wrt on your router model.

Peruse jsebean tutorial for flashing "WRT" series: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=287813. It should work on the WRT 3200ACM

Good luck.

Once you have successfully installed DD-WRT, peruse the post here http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=304754. I spent hours of trial and error until I discovered HappyDaddy instructions.
The 1200AC, 1900ACS and 3200ACM are from the same manufacturer.

Good luck

With the OpenVPN client you can route a specific client (your Apple TV) through the VPN and the rest through your ISP. This is called Policy Based Routing and is easy to implement Smile

Setting up an OpenVPN client depends on your OpenVPN provider, I am using Private internet Access as VPN provider which is easy to setup
