Google Fiber connectivity

I just got google fiber. Must run thru their router/modem. So I connect the modem to a switch and the switch to my routers WLAN. I then tried to set up a wireless printer on my VPN (after turning off Google WIFI)and it shows connected but the printer will not print. If I turn on the Google WIFI and assign its network to the printer it will print. How do I get it to print to the WIFI run off of my Router (VPN)?

Don't tick the AP Isolation Option.
