Hi Everyone. I am new to the DD world and want to do it right. I have several routers one is a Trendnet TES-828DRU.

I have been through every single folder in beta and what not and the only file I can find is trendnet-828dru-webflash.bin

but every single piece of documentation says i need a factory version since the router has the trendnet firmware on it.

Has this been changed? Can I use the webflash directly? Or am I just out of luck.

Another issue is when I go to the download section on the dd-wrt site and click the link for the firmware for the router i get a JSON error not found

http://www.dd-wrt.com/routerdb/de/download/TRENDnet/TEW-828DRU%20/v1/trendnet-828dru-webflash.bin/4432

But even that link says webflash in the name.

So basically I am asking is it safe to use the webflash?

Yes you can use the webflash.bin. Read this thread http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=284667
Also the firmware is found here ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/

Ok everyone. Just wanted to post how I got this to work.

First I tried the 30x30x30 thing.

Then the router booted up with a very old firmware.

I then tried putting on the newest firmware from DD-WRT.

DID NOT WORK

The I did the 30x30x30 thing again

Then I upgraded to the DD-WRT firmware provided by trendnet.

That did not work either.

Start over again.

30x30x30

Upgraded firmware with version 1.0.7 from trend net

Then after the reboot I upgraded it with the dd-wrt firmware from trendnet website (v3-r27490)

After restart DEAD. oh oh. Then I did a 30x30x30 and then I got into the DD-wrt Smile yeah. Lets see if know I can upgrade to the newest dd-wrt from dd-wrt. Wish me luck. I will keep you guys posted.

I am doing a Netgear R6300 after this

Note :

Crappy developers at trendnet. Download buttons dont work in Chrome

http://www.trendnet.com/support/supportdetail.asp?prod=110_TEW-828DRU

just Open IE and you can download the firmwares

No need for the 30/30/30.

If I just did a normal reboot, it did NOT work.

I have also run into other problems.

After I upgraded to the newest DD-wrt firmware I cannot configure my second 5G network.

It is being broadcasted. And I am pretty sure I saw it when I had just upgraded. But now no matter what I do its not visible.

Should I revert back?

Another thing is for some reason the channel dropdown list for the 5G network that is visible has no options in it. Is this the router that cant change the channel or is it a bug?

I can change channel on the 2.4Ghz

What are your 5ghz settings? Did you reset after flashing?
