Wireless PC is a desktop so does not move. Has one wall between it and router and is about 10 feet from router. The other PC is Ethernet attached to the router and in same room as the router. For what it's worth, when I do an iperf throughput test under roughly the same conditions, I get 375 Mbit/s for the 5 GHz band. On my 3200acm i Noticed an odd bug with the 9/9/17 release. Every 24 hours the gui dd-wrt status tab for vpn would be show not connected, although it wouldnt really show “not connected” it was as if something was broken. And the two devises hooked up to the vpn would not be connected to the vpn or internet. Not sure what it is about so i am upgrading to the 9/11/17 build..

Or you can simply look in the web Ui.
With DD-wrt you will not get the name 'wallaby' the info is the exact same in SSH as web Ui.
I'm pretty sure we are ALL talking about DD-WRT in these threads, or VERY clear when we are talking about reading some info from some other System like LEDE or Debian etc..

I tend to be a command line person and comes seccond nature to me. Have done it for lots of years now with Linux and some Cisco routers, plus playing with Openwrt without the Luci UI.

I like the fact that BS gave us folks the option of using an interface.
It's the primary reason I suggest DD-WRT to folks who are not so focused on the details but more focused on results with the minium learning curve possible.
The debate about learning Linux to negotiate your router is pretty much dead with DD-WRT when it's working to par.
Besides I always Opt for the easiest method for the general user, understanding that there are literally millions of ways to do things, some far more complicated then others.
Back when the first wrt54 hit the shelves a lot of people used DD-WRT for the very first time with no intention of ever having to learn anything about Linux.
A lot of those people are still here.

Well I am one of the folks back in 2006 installing DD-WRT on my WRT54G. My day job got me involved with Linux. Had Linux servers to support.
