Hi Experts,

I'm having problem in flashing dd-wrt firmware. I tried as per Wiki and still not gone through.
I have uploaded 29218 and 25974 but failed.
It always get to 192.168.0.1

I downgrade firwmare to 1.0 but still failed.
Any suggestion to try other methods?

Did you use the factory-to-dd-wrt file?

r33215 will not work for DIR-868L Rev A. The last know working version for DIR-868L/880L and I believe most Broadcom routers using BCM4360 wireless adapters will not work after the r30432 release in the DD-WRT site.

I believe the patch committed at r30468 bricked most Broadcom routers.

The following path worked for me:

1. Flash from factory firmware or from router recovery to DD-WRT using this build:

https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2015/01-20-2015-r25974/dlink-dir868l/factory-to-ddwrt.bin

2. Upgrade from dd-wrt r25974 to one of this build:

https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2016/08-16-2016-r30432/dlink-dir868l-reva/dir868a-webflash.bin

Unfortunately the last working build is already more than a year old.

I tried with 25974. It rebooted after uploaded new firware with green light. But, I still can ping to 192.168.0.1 and unable to reach to 192.168.1.1

Any other ways to get through?
Thanks.

If the power light turns green that means it is OK. I guess your computer's IP address is still manually configured to 192.168.0.X?

DD-WRT defaults to the 192.168.1.X network. So after flashing to DD-WRT from D-Link firmware or the recovery web-server, should change network interface to DHCP mode. The router can then be access via http://192.168.1.1

After that upgrade to newer builds.

Thanks for reply. But, I am still getting my preivous DHCP lease IP from my previous Dlink configuration and able to ping 192.168.0.1. But, when I browse, I got blank page. I think old settings is still exist. Is there any other ways to clear all old settings?

After that upgrade to newer builds.

Finally, it's up and running.
I just press reset button for only 10 Sec during power on. After that Pc received DHCP IP.
Thanks all.

What build are you running now? Did you try the latest builds, like 33345, 33215, 33006? These have many of the newest/latest bells and whistles.

Also, check this:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=311166

The 868/880 have been having problems with Firmwares for over a year as Quark said earlier, but he has done some surgery and pin pointed the issues and now has a working build for your router, and which also may work on the 880s too.

I already tried 33215 and got amber light. Meaning that it failed. I can try 33345 and let you know whether it works or not. Can I just upload factory-dd-wrt from current working GUI?

If you're already running the full revision of whatever Firmware you are using right now, then you should be able to just upload that right to it. If you want to be thorough, however, you can nvram erase, do all the resets, then go factory-dd-wrt > full flash.

Ok, wait, i just looked at what Quark uploaded. That's the full flash, so make sure you are upgraded properly from whichever revision you're using. Then just upload his. You can get it here: https://app.box.com/s/6ol5uriy9rc9fnkznljfshgd1ofghldm

Very interested to see if this works, so post back asap Smile

Thanks, Wetzel. That's the web flash. So, I don't need to upload factory-Ddwrt.bin? Just upload the one posted by Quark?

Yep. Should be all good to go. That's what I've always done for every upgrade, until I wasn't able to any longer, but hopefully Quark's build will be the cure. If you issue with it, let us know, and then if you want to use a stable build after that, go with r30432, which works perfectly.

One more thing, depending if you choose the option to go back to default settings, if you don't and want to keep the settings, disable SSH and Sputnik first. His build may fix that, not sure, but that was always the problem when SSH was enabled on the previous builds (it was causing brick problems). Disable at first just to be sure it's not in the way.
