Hello everyone and thank you all in advance for any help you can provide. I have tried everything possible to get ddwrt installed on my wrt 1900ac v1. No matter what version I try (BS, Kong etc) no matter what build I try, the install completes and the router never completes the reboot. When I try to log into the 192.168.1.1 after the reboot I simple get a page that says connection reset.

I have tried installing from OEM fw 1.1.8 and 1.1.10. I have tried BS and Kong versions back to 2016 and they all install but fail to completely reboot. I have to be doing something wrong but I am at a loss. IF anyone can provide any insight or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for the links and guides. I have read them extensively. I should point out that I have DDWRT installed on my Linksys 3200ACM and my Linksys EA 6400. They both installed flawlessly and this is the first time I have run into any issues.

Everytime I try to install any of the customer firmware it installs once I get the router is booting message it simply hangs there. I have left it for up to 20 minutes and it still just hangs at that point in the install. Even if I open a new browser when I go to 192.168.1.1 I get a white page saying cnnection reset.

I just didnt know if anyone else had come across this issue with the 1900ac v1 before. I will give it a few more goes before I give up.

And again to all of you that moderate these forums thank you so much. These really do provide a great source of information and support. You guys are fantastic.

I had a similar experience a while back. It could be that the file got corrupted when you downloaded it.

Clear your browser history, restart computer and download bin file again.
If you have another browser on your PC or Mac use it for the download as well.

Good luck!

Here is what I had to do.

After I installed firmware I had to reset the modem. This gave me internet access.

When I went to 192.168.1.1 I went to the same blank page that said connection reset.

I had to go to 192.168.1.1/services.asp !!!!!!!!

This allowed me into the GUI for the DDWRT. Once I changed my password I was able to reset and now can log in normally.

I have never seen or read anywhere about this before. Hopefully this can help someone else as well.

As always thank you all so much for your assistance.
