Well it has been 2 years, I wouldn't hope anything from it. Next time people try reverse steps, first check ddwrt support and then buy a router. _________________ R6400v2 (boardID:30) - Kong 36480 running since 03/09/18 - (AP - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7800 - BS 31924 running since 05/26/17 - (AP - OpenVPN Client - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7000 - BS 30771 running since 12/16/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - OpenVPN Server - Transmission - DDNS - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R6250 - BS 29193 running since 03/20/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - DNSMasq - AdBlocking)

Is that I buy the router without knowing the version that brings. I have seen that there is Lede firmware for this device, really there will be no dd-wrt?

I only shop for routers on the DD-WRT supported devices page, and this is the 1st time I've been burned in the process. I bought a TP-LINK Archer C5 specifically because of the price, personal experience with the brand, and DD-WRT support, but I got a C5 v2. I have run DD-WRT firmware, exclusively, on all my routers since 2008, and since I started using DD-WRT, my dad has become a fan, too. So disappointing that my new router will likely never get to taste DD-WRT.

Disappointing is that people expect everything for free and on top of that they complain as they would be paying for a premium service/support, have you checked how long is the list of supported routers? Stop whining and next time do better your homework.
@joseddr, as I said, I'm pretty sure it won't be any. For that price I would check out a used Asus, or Netgear, or maybe a cheap D-link. _________________ R6400v2 (boardID:30) - Kong 36480 running since 03/09/18 - (AP - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7800 - BS 31924 running since 05/26/17 - (AP - OpenVPN Client - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7000 - BS 30771 running since 12/16/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - OpenVPN Server - Transmission - DDNS - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R6250 - BS 29193 running since 03/20/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - DNSMasq - AdBlocking)
SUPPORT V2 PLEASE!!! Router has not bad CPU AT ALL, IT IS A BIG WASTE! Thank you!
Yeah... 4x Gigabit and a 900Mhz CPU with 128MB RAM, but no DD-WRT Support yet.
Lets hope it will come soon
I think it will not come out, they said it up. Hopefully at least take out the Firm LEDE, because it is a great router, but the native firm has many limitations.
Thought I'd check back in on this thread to see if there was any movement. As Borat would say, "much disappoint."
As many have noted, there is a LEDE/OpenWRT build that works with this router (lede-17.01.4-bcm53xx-tplink-archer-c5-v2-squashfs), but it does NOT support the 5GHz radio at all and even the 2.4GHz radio does not support all features. Their community attributes this to the fact their OSS commitment means older drivers for these Broadcom SoC's and attribute DD-WRT's ability to run on devices like...

In the Archer C5 V2, looking at routers with common features, couldn't I just use this firmware:
DIR-860L
(AC1200) A1 KA2
IR860LA1 Broadcom
BCM47081A0
@800 128 128 Broadcom
BCM4352
& BCM43217 an/ac 2x2:2
b/g/n 2x2:2 1 1 1 4 LAN
1 WAN 12V
2A 1 USB 3.0
Gbit switch dir860l-a1
build 26534
20150324
That router is near similar in chip specs..?
What else is needed to create an archer c5 v2 image ?
... even with the 5GHz radio to the NDA DD-WRT has with Broadcom that provides more recent drivers.
So why a DD-WRT for the DIR-860L and not the TP-Link AC-1200 v2.0 (Archer C5 AC1200 v2.0)?
Could leveraging this knowledge enable a DIR-860L like build (or generic with the newer Broadcom drivers) to work on the AC-1200 v2.0's? It's past my abilities, but this is everything I've scoured up after hours of digging.
Could it be as simple as modifying a generic build to pass the U bootloader's sniff test?

Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum and, after years of happy use of DD WRT on my TP-Link WR1043ND due to a fault I bought the new TP-Link Archer C5 (AC1200) sure that it was version 1.x compatible with this magnificent FirmWare ...
As soon as I got home the router here is the surprise: It is the "new" version 2.0 and, to date, IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE with DD-WRT ... I see that the problem "unites" many of us users and I would be really grateful to the developers if they could find a solution by making this device (TP-Link Archer C5 V2.0) "supported" as well. Thank you in advance!!!
