Hello,

So I can only connect at wifi max 802.11ac 400Mhz to my Archer C9.

It is set on VHT80 (I have also tried VHT160 which I am not sure is support by the hardware but I tired anyway)
Channel is set to auto however it is 52 + 54 and is clear of other wifi nodes. It is set to only be AC.
Optimize Multicast Traffic, Explicit Beamforming and
Implicit Beamforming are all enabled.

Connected devices
Intel 7260 in Laptop should be 867 Mbps
Intel 3160 in Laptop should be 433 Mbps
Boardcom 802.11ac Adapter in Desktop (Asus z97 wifi) in think 867Mbps

This is with the devices close to the router.

These report 400Mbps and VHT80 in both dd-wrt and in windows (Expect
3160 reports 200Mbps)

Firmware I have tired:
04-05-2016-r29409
06-01-2017-r32170
09-11-2017-r33345

EDIT: it worked on stock firmware

Any ideas?

Thanks for you help

Seems like you have the same problem as we have with asus ac87u. Clients connect only N-Mode, but not AC-Mode.

Did you benchmark it? Don't use auto channel, and what about Mixed mode?

do not set to auto, the only valid combination for (80Mhz + 80Mhz ) is 138 +144 +155, so forces it to 23dBm, even if you set it to 30dBm, choose country domain Canada or Haiti, also on 5Gz not all AC clients are real AC but AC draft and connect on N speeds... so its very client dependent situation too...

@Xeon2k8 Mixed mode or N only doesn't change anything.

Great thank you! That seem to have solved it.

Sweden the country I live in only has the option for Auto.
Not sure why.

So I set it to Canada set it to Channel 132 - 5.660 Ghz at VHT80 lower lower

The resulting channel is reported at 132 + 138

What channels have you got available now to choose from?

Yeah the only reg domain tested are US, Germany and Europe(I think), that's why all others is a matter of luck.

Use channel 149 that should give you 30dBm.

Ok I tried 149 however my phone and my Chromecast could see it. I think this is down to the being European and now allows to go to that channel

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels#5_GHz_.28802.11a.2Fh.2Fj.2Fn.2Fac.29

I set my router to Europe and I get channels :36, 52,100, 116

116 work fine. I am not sure where it says how much power I am outputting at. 116 seem low however though you could have got more channel in Europe.

So I guess what was broken here was "Sweden" and I guess it should default to Europe anyway.

For me this working Smile Thanks very much
