IPVanish have updated and moved their setup guide.
Does not look like there are any changes to me so may just be a new location (the old link is now dead).

Thanks for the guide, got it up and running in a few miutes. Picked a server in NYC, even though I'm in PA. I'm a cord cutter. I will figure out if I can accept the hit on bandwidth the overhead of the VPN rquires, but more importantly, I lose my local channels on DirecTV Now. I assumed it would think I was in NYC and give me NYC locals instead of PA locals, but I guess it knows my billing address, finds me not there, and just takes away locals. Thoughts?

My guess is that your billing zip code has to match your ip address zip code, but I could be wrong.
Other than using an antenna to pick up local channels, I can’t think of anything of the top of my head.
I would try the Direct TV / AT&T Community online. I am certain you aren’t the first to have this issue.

This is my first post. Let me first start off by thanking the DD-WRT community.
I had no issues getting my VPN to come up.
The IP vanish software has a "KillSwitch" feature that blackholes traffic in the event the VPN is down. I've seen posts about this but not sure of the best way to do this.
Currently my DD-WRT is my core router, and my intentions are to force all traffic down the VPN. I do have some traffic exceptions, but thats an issue for another thread.
The only additional commands I have are:
persist-key
persist-tun
persist-remote-ip
keysize 256
remote-cert-tls server

This post has an example of a killwitch command as well as a script created by @eibgrad for use with Policy Based Routing, which from your post, is something you will want later on.

No. Client enabled only. Can you post a copy of your logs and VPN Client Setup. Make sure to redact any private info such as user id & password. _________________ DD-WRT Installation & Setup TUTORIAL http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=311117

Policy Based Routing is meant for just that. You would put the IP Address of each device you want to use the VPN Tunnel. Any IP that is left out will connect to the WAN normally.
It’s one IP per line and you must include the subnet so the PBR knows how many IP Addresses in total.

Mind you there is a "bug" in ddwrt meaning that clients in the PBR field (thus using the VPN) can not connect loacally. If you need that then I can give you a link to a script which gets PBR clients local access (not at home now)
