What is this 'SFE accelerated NAT' ...
&
What are k builds ? | Ah, I see. See 'SFE' in my footer. Some erroneously call it 'hardware NAT'...it allows for higher speeds than what a pure iptables firewall can achieve (per CPU clock). OEM firmware uses it (even since the old k2.4 WRT's), and SFE (from Qualcomm) was recently open-sourced. As noted by Kryptex in the 'limited speed' link, the max speed is a function of CPU speed (divided by 4.5 to get a rough estimate of Mb/s limit). The 'k' refers to the kernel version, e.g. k26 is kernel 2.6. Only 3.10+ supports SFE in DD; afaik all the broadcom k3x builds are 3.10. _________________ # NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD # Repeater issues # DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo #
